Al-Qur’an Memorization Competition 2017

This year marks the third annual Qur’an Memorization Competition organized by the Guyana Islamic Trust (GIT) in collaboration with the Holy Qur’an Memorization International Organization based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The event took place on September 23 & 24, 2017 in the Ibn Kaldune Hall, ISA Islamic School, Georgetown. The Competition comprised four categories: Juzz’ Amma, Last two Ajzaa, First five Ajzaa and first fifteen Ajzaa respectively.

The participants were judged on their pronunciation of letters and vowels, application of the rules of Tajweed, strength of memorization, and fluency.

The GIT wishes to congratulate all participants on their outstanding performances. The Holy Qur’an competition aims at motivating our brothers and sisters of all ages towards the memorization of the Book of Allah, Subhanahuwa ta’ala and to become proficient in its recitation.

The GIT joins with the Holy Qur’an Memorization International Organization in thanking the Muslim community in Guyana for its continued participation and support.
