Regional Islamic Convention 2017 | Commissioning of the Ahmad Ihwas Auditorium

Alhamdulillah, scores of persons from across the country participated in the GIT’s Regional Islamic Convention 2017 and also witnessed the historic commissioning of the  GII’s new Auditorium held on August 13 at the GII Complex, Lot 1 Zeeburg, West Coast Demerara.

Indeed the day’s activities were punctuated by the inspiring and motivating presentations of Shaykh Raouf Zaman, former Murshid of the GIT and Shaykh Abdur Rahman Khan- former principal of the GII who delivered the feature presentations focusing on the theme for this year’s Convention ‘Preserving the Muslim Family in Challenging Times’. 

President of the Guyana Islamic Trust, Sh. Abdool Aleem Rahim  made brief remarks on behalf of the Organization and also expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to Br Nazar Mohamed and his family for their sterling donation of the GII’s new facility- the Ahmad Ihwas Auditorium which is named in honour of the founding member of the GIT. May Allah have mercy upon Br. Ahmad and magnify his rewards for his selfless efforts and sacrifices in His Cause.  Certainly, the realization of this magnificent project is of tremendous boost to the GII and the Muslim community at large.

Moments before receiving a plaque as a token of appreciation from the GIT, Br Nazar delivered brief but moving remarks to the gathering during which the Ahmad Ihwas Auditorium was officially commissioned. During his presentation, Br. Nazar highlighted the invaluable and enormous contributions of those who have laid the foundation for Islam and Muslim Community Development locally.

The Administrative Council of the GIT expresses its sincere gratitude to all those who have participated in the Regional Islamic Convention 2017.
