Certainly, our Social Relief and Welfare work takes on a very critical position within the social program of the GIT. Thousands of Guyanese live below the poverty line. Many destitute families depend on our welfare and relief efforts for basic necessities of life.
The GIT executed several social relief programs, through our Social Relief Arm- Guyana Islamic Trust Relief Organisation (GITRO), as well as our Social Center. Our humanitarian work includes: medical care assistance, building homes for destitute families, distribution of food hampers, clothing distribution, medical clinics, outreaches and assistance, dire needs programmes, Iftaar and Udhiyah Projects, educational support and sponsorship for orphans and deserving students, emergency response projects, disaster relief and care for widows and the elderly.
The cries for help are overwhelming. Please donate generously to the GIT Relief Organisation, so we can respond adequately to those in urgent need of your help. We desperately need your support to maintain these services.
